Job Description: Pathologist Job Overview Seeking a seasoned, dedicated Pathologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in both clinical and anatomical pathology and demonstrate a commitment to delivering accurate, timely, and actionable diagnoses to guide patient care. Key Responsibilities - Diagnose Diseases: Examine biopsies, surgical specimens, and/or frozen tissue samples to diagnose a wide range of diseases, including cancers, infections, and genetic disorders. - Microscopic Examination: Utilize advanced microscopy techniques to analyze cell structures and identify abnormal growths, tissue changes, or infectious agents. - Collaboration with Clinicians: Work closely with clinical physicians, surgeons, oncologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide diagnostic consultation, discuss findings, and recommend further tests or treatments. Weekly travel to read frozen sections in state-of-the-art mobile lab performed at selected facilities (St. Petersburg, Brooksville, and New Port Richey). - Consultation and Reports: Provide detailed pathology reports and diagnostic information, highlighting key findings, potential diagnoses, and next steps for patient care. - Research & Education: Stay updated on advances in pathology through continuous education, research, and participation in professional societies. - Quality Control: Participate in quality assurance and control programs to maintain high diagnostic accuracy and ensure adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards. - Technology Use: Utilize modern laboratory technologies, such as molecular diagnostics, immunohistochemistry, and digital pathology, to enhance diagnostic capabilities. - Compliance and Documentation: Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations, patient confidentiality (HIPAA), and ethical standards in all aspects of practice. Qualifications & Skills - Medical Degree (MD) or equivalent from an accredited institution. - Specialized Training: Completion of a residency program in pathology, with board certification in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, or both. - Fellowship training in a specialized area of pathology (e.g., dermatopathology, neuropathology, or hematopathology) (preferred). - Licensure: Valid medical license to practice as a Pathologist in Florida - Experience with molecular diagnostics, including next-generation sequencing or PCR-based assays. - Academic or research background in pathology. - Proficient in microscopic and laboratory diagnostic techniques. - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for reporting results and discussing cases with colleagues and patients. - Strong attention to detail and ability to handle complex medical cases. - Familiarity with digital pathology tools and laboratory information systems. - Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. - Commitment to continuous professional development. Required qualifications:

  • Medical Degree (MD) or equivalent from an accredited institution
