Role OverviewAs a Senior QA Engineer, you will be responsible for quality in a new product squad working in US hours on a crypto payment platform. The role is automation-first: you write and maintain automated tests on top of a shared test framework, move routine regression into CI, and complement automation with hands-on exploratory and acceptance testing for client-facing releases. Success means the squad ships client-facing functionality confidently.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Own the test strategy and execution for the squad: acceptance, exploratory, and regression testing</li><li>Write and maintain automated UI and API tests on the shared test framework</li><li>Own and prioritize the automation backlog; move routine regression into CI so releases are not blocked on manual passes</li><li>Review product requirements and acceptance criteria with product and engineering, providing feedback before development starts</li><li>Verify client-facing releases and run acceptance testing before they reach clients</li><li>Communicate with stakeholders and third-party vendors about ongoing product issues</li><li>Maintain QA documentation and reports, including release testing and escaped defects reports</li></ul>Required Qualifications<ul><li>5+ years of experience as a QA Engineer on web applications</li><li>Strong experience writing and maintaining automated test scripts for UI, API, or backend tests</li><li>Good programming skills in TypeScript</li><li>Proficiency in a modern automation framework, i.e. Playwright</li><li>Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines</li><li>Hands-on manual testing skills: exploratory, regression, smoke, and acceptance testing</li><li>Hands-on experience with API testing tools such as Insomnia or Postman</li><li>Proficiency in writing SQL queries for testing and data verification</li><li>Understanding of the test pyramid and automation strategy</li><li>Proficient use of AI tooling in test design and coding, with critical review of AI-generated output</li><li>Prior crypto experience is optional; building a working understanding of crypto and stablecoin payment flows on the job is a mandatory part of the role</li><li>High agency: you raise quality risks while they are still cheap to fix and drive them to a decision</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication in English</li></ul>Preferred Experience<ul><li>Fintech, payments, or crypto domain experience</li><li>Experience with Jira and TestRail (or similar products)</li><li>Experience configuring CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitLab CI)</li><li>Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and shift-left practices</li><li>Performance testing experience</li></ul>Reporting StructureReports to: Engineering Manager.LocationRemote.
