About Us

Circle is building the world’s leading AI-powered, all-in-one platform for digital businesses. We make it possible for creators, coaches, educators, and businesses to bring together their audience with engaging discussions, live streams, events, chat, courses, and payments — all in one place, all under their own brand.

We’re proud to be a fully remote company of around 270 (and growing!) team members from 30 countries around the world. We seek exceptional individuals around the world, set them up to do the best work of their lives, and in turn, create a meaningful impact in their own lives. We don't track hours, but we do manage for high expectations very closely. We collaborate across time zones, are highly async, and like to document a lot.

Twice a year, we bring the whole company together in beautiful places around the world for our company offsites. So far, we’ve hosted offsites in Turkey, Portugal, Mexico, Thailand, Colombia, Italy, Ireland, and more, with still more to come!

Check out our Careers page for more about working at Circle.

About The Role

We’re building something game-changing at Circle: a discovery marketplace where millions can find creators, communities, and products to help them achieve their highest personal and professional goals.

You’ll own generating and growing the demand engine for the Discover marketplace. Think of a Pinterest, Reddit or Instagram-style product, reimagined with a mission to help people achieve their goals instead of distracting them with endless doom scrolling.

Through

Discover, you will be building technology that could help millions of people grow, self-actualize, and live their best lives.

As the Growth Lead for Discover, you’ll report directly to the GM of Discover and work closely with Circle's co-founders to bring this vision to life. Day to day you'll work with the product team for Discover, our paid media team, data team, brand and design studio, lifecycle marketing, partnerships, and more.

This is a fully remote role, open to candidates in any North American time zone.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Own growth for the Discover marketplace. Drive traffic to Discover, experiment with how consumers find and engage with Discover, and grow its GMV and transaction volume.
  • A/B testing and experimentation. Run experiments to better acquire, engage, and retain traffic. Test what people see when they arrive on Discover, the algorithms behind recommendations, and marketplace structure.
  • Build Circle's end-to-end lifecycle email programs. Build the acquisition funnel for Discover by setting up a recommendations newsletter, creating offers to acquire subscribers, and developing email programs to turn visitors into repeat buyers.
  • Build an SEO program. Grow Discover's organic surfaces and SEO / AEO across product pages and distribution partnerships with the creators already building on Circle.
  • Drive creator success on the marketplace. Help creators listed on Discover succeed by sending them buyers who convert and stay, diagnosing which categories generate traffic but underconvert, and applying those learnings across the marketplace.
  • Build the team's reporting. Track funnel performance by category, cohort retention of Discover-sourced members, and what individual creators earn from the marketplace, and own reporting on performance and recommendations to leadership.
  • Help shape and execute Discover's growth strategy. Partner with the GM of Discover and co-founders to shape growth priorities and collaborate with the product team to evolve the product.

What you'll need to be successful

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English (CEFR C2 or equivalent), as most collaboration at Circle happens asynchronously.
  • A track record of owning a revenue or GMV number across multiple channels at one time, where you were able to grow the number and deliver real results. Ideally, you can walk us through what moved the number, what worked, and what you got wrong. This matters a lot more to us than your title or how many years you've been doing this.
  • Experience with email and lifecycle marketing, including building a program from scratch. You should have a clear view of what it should be judged on beyond opens and clicks.
  • Experience acquiring email subscribers profitably and growing their value over time.

This mechanic is going to be key here: bring someone in for less than they'll eventually spend, then earning more from them by delivering real value to both them and the creator.

  • Comfortable being hands-on as a player-coach. This includes writing the emails, building the pages, talking to the creators, setting up reporting, and reading the results yourself.
  • Deep understanding of marketplaces and/or businesses with strong network effects. Ideally, you’re someone who obsesses about marketplace network effects, and shows strong judgment and opinions on growing the demand side of a marketplace.
  • Learn fast, experiment aggressively, and thrive in a highly dynamic environment. You’ll need to be comfortable running a lot of experiments and letting the results settle the argument, including the ones that don't work (which will be many of them in the beginning).
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity. You’ll need to learn and pick up new technologies when projects require it.

Common Interview Questions And Answers

1. HOW DO YOU PLAN YOUR DAY?

This is what this question poses: When do you focus and start working seriously? What are the hours you work optimally? Are you a night owl? A morning bird? Remote teams can be made up of people working on different shifts and around the world, so you won't necessarily be stuck in the 9-5 schedule if it's not for you...

2. HOW DO YOU USE THE DIFFERENT COMMUNICATION TOOLS IN DIFFERENT SITUATIONS?

When you're working on a remote team, there's no way to chat in the hallway between meetings or catch up on the latest project during an office carpool. Therefore, virtual communication will be absolutely essential to get your work done...

3. WHAT IS "WORKING REMOTE" REALLY FOR YOU?

Many people want to work remotely because of the flexibility it allows. You can work anywhere and at any time of the day...

4. WHAT DO YOU NEED IN YOUR PHYSICAL WORKSPACE TO SUCCEED IN YOUR WORK?

With this question, companies are looking to see what equipment they may need to provide you with and to verify how aware you are of what remote working could mean for you physically and logistically...

5. HOW DO YOU PROCESS INFORMATION?

Several years ago, I was working in a team to plan a big event. My supervisor made us all work as a team before the big day. One of our activities has been to find out how each of us processes information...

6. HOW DO YOU MANAGE THE CALENDAR AND THE PROGRAM? WHICH APPLICATIONS / SYSTEM DO YOU USE?

Or you may receive even more specific questions, such as: What's on your calendar? Do you plan blocks of time to do certain types of work? Do you have an open calendar that everyone can see?...

7. HOW DO YOU ORGANIZE FILES, LINKS, AND TABS ON YOUR COMPUTER?

Just like your schedule, how you track files and other information is very important. After all, everything is digital!...

9. HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR A MEETING AND PREPARE A MEETING? WHAT DO YOU SEE HAPPENING DURING THE MEETING?

Just as communication is essential when working remotely, so is organization. Because you won't have those opportunities in the elevator or a casual conversation in the lunchroom, you should take advantage of the little time you have in a video or phone conference...

10. HOW DO YOU USE TECHNOLOGY ON A DAILY BASIS, IN YOUR WORK AND FOR YOUR PLEASURE?

This is a great question because it shows your comfort level with technology, which is very important for a remote worker because you will be working with technology over time...
