Senior Technical Project Manager-Project HireReq ID:

10153419Job Description:

Attractions Operational Technology (AOT) is a dynamic team comprising Software Engineering, Data Operations, Platform Systems, and Project Management. Together, we develop diverse solutions—from web applications to real-time embedded systems—powering our attractions globally, including on cruise ships. We partner closely with Walt Disney Imagineering on future attractions and are responsible for sustaining attraction systems once they open to guests.

As a Senior Technical Project Manager-Project Hire, you will lead multiple cross-functional, technically focused projects staffed by Software and Platform Engineers. You will drive delivery across the full application lifecycle—from new development through continuous improvement and sustainment—using a product-focused mindset. This role leads Scrum ceremonies, gathers stakeholder requirements, and presents updates to executive audiences while partnering closely with maintenance, safety, and engineering teams to deliver world-class guest experiences across Disney Parks.

This position will rely on the individual’s ability to successfully partner with engineering on system design and architecture discussions. This role will begin by leading expansion work on the Attractions AMVS (Automated Maintenance Verification System) system and continue development and rollout efforts on the Attraction Packet Exchanger.

This position will report to the Manager-Technical Project Management.

This is a 19-month Project Hire position without any guarantee of permanent placement.

Responsibilities/You Will

  • Lead large-scale, multi-team initiatives supporting global attraction systems

  • Coordinate across multiple lines of business: Imagineering, Engineering, Safety, Facilities Management, and Operations teams

  • Plan, and manage project activities across the full project lifecycle, facilitating Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, and Backlog Refinement

  • Own end-to-end delivery of technical initiatives, ensuring alignment to schedule, scope and business priorities while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships

  • Drive improvements in delivery predictability, team velocity, and system reliability

  • Define product vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with business and operational goals

  • Gather, prioritize, and translate customer and stakeholder requirements into actionable plans

  • Partner with technical teams to refine product features, scope, and delivery approach

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, issues, and cross-team dependencies

  • Establish reporting frameworks, KPIs and dashboards to track progress and long term performance

  • Serve as the voice of the customer, ensuring solutions meet end-user needs and expectations

  • Facilitate regular stakeholder meetings to drive alignment, transparency, and issue resolution

  • Establish and manage project milestones, baselines, and performance metrics

  • Develop and deliver clear, concise executive-level presentations and status updates

  • Lead additional initiatives including process modeling, workflow design, data analysis, and stakeholder roadshows

Basic Qualifications/You Will Have

  • 5+ years of experience in project management or a related field

  • Proven track record of successfully delivering multiple concurrent software development projects

  • 5+ years of experience applying Agile or hybrid project delivery methodologies

  • Strong experience facilitating Scrum ceremonies and Agile team practices

  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and leverage data to inform decisions

  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills

Just as communication is essential when working remotely, so is organization. Because you won't have those opportunities in the elevator or a casual conversation in the lunchroom, you should take advantage of the little time you have in a video or phone conference...

10. HOW DO YOU USE TECHNOLOGY ON A DAILY BASIS, IN YOUR WORK AND FOR YOUR PLEASURE?
