Perfect for a college student looking for 1–3 full days of work per week, a flexible schedule, and the opportunity to earn great money while working independently.

American Home Performance | Part-Time | 1–3 Days Per Week

Compensation: 20/20/20 + Tips + Sales Commission

At American Home Performance, we reward technicians for productivity, customer service, and helping customers identify additional services they may need.

Our compensation structure includes:

  • $20/hour OR 20% of completed job revenue — whichever is greater
  • $20 bonus for every 5-star Google review you earn
  • 100% of customer tips
  • 10% commission on approved service upsells

You will always have the security of an hourly wage, while strong technicians have the opportunity to earn significantly more based on the work they complete.

About the Position

American Home Performance is looking for a dependable, motivated Air Duct & Dryer Vent Cleaning Technician to join our team.

This position is especially well suited for a college student or someone looking for 1–3 full days of work per week rather than a traditional five-day schedule.

No previous air duct cleaning experience is required. We provide hands-on training and teach you our equipment, cleaning process, customer service standards, safety procedures, and how to manage a daily route.

After training, you will primarily work independently. You will drive a company vehicle, travel to scheduled appointments, complete services, communicate with homeowners, and manage your route throughout the day.

What You'll Do

  • Perform residential air duct cleaning
  • Perform residential dryer vent cleaning
  • Drive a company vehicle to scheduled appointments
  • Manage your daily route and stay on schedule
  • Set up and operate professional cleaning equipment
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners
  • Explain the cleaning process and answer customer questions
  • Identify additional services that may benefit the customer
  • Take before-and-after photos of the service, vents, system
  • Keep your company vehicle and equipment clean and organized
  • Follow company safety procedures and service standards
  • Deliver the level of service that earns repeat customers, referrals, reviews, and tips

What a Typical Day Looks Like

A technician may complete several air duct and dryer vent cleaning appointments throughout the day.

A typical route may produce approximately $600–$1,000+ in completed job revenue, depending on the jobs scheduled.

Base pay under our compensation structure:

  • $600 in revenue = $120
  • $800 in revenue = $160
  • $1,000 in revenue = $200

Your compensation will go up from there after adding 5-star review bonuses, customer tips, and sales commission.

Example

If you complete $800 in job revenue, earn one 5-star Google review, and receive a $20 customer tip:

$160 revenue-based pay
+$20 review bonus
+$20 tip
= $200 for the day

Any qualifying service upsells would add an additional 10% commission.

Actual earnings vary based on route, job size, hours worked, reviews, tips, and additional services sold.

Who We're Looking For

Our ideal candidate is:

  • Available 1–3 full days per week
  • Dependable and punctual
  • A self-starter who is comfortable working independently
  • Able to manage their own route after training
  • Friendly and professional with customers
  • Comfortable working inside customers' homes
  • Comfortable performing physical work throughout the day
  • Willing to learn and follow established procedures
  • Detail-oriented and proud of doing quality work
  • Motivated by the opportunity to earn more through strong performance

Physical Requirements

Technicians should be comfortable:

  • Carrying and operating cleaning equipment
  • Moving hoses and equipment throughout residential homes
  • Going up and down stairs throughout the day
  • Climbing ladders when necessary
  • Working from ladders at heights up to approximately two stories

For work above two stories, American Home Performance uses boom lifts rather than requiring technicians to work from unsafe ladder heights.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license
  • Safe and responsible driving habits
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Ability to safely lift and operate cleaning equipment
  • Professional appearance and communication
  • Dependable attendance
  • Ability to work independently after completing training

Why American Home Performance?

This is not a job where you will spend your entire shift being closely supervised.

Once you are trained, you will be trusted to manage your route, operate a company vehicle, complete your appointments, interact with customers, and take ownership of your work.

For someone who is dependable and motivated, the position offers a combination of:

  • Flexible part-time scheduling
  • Independent work
  • Performance-based earning potential
  • Tips and bonuses
  • Sales commission
  • Hands-on experience working directly with customers

No previous air duct cleaning experience is required. We will train the right person.

If you're dependable, enjoy working independently, take pride in doing good work, and want a flexible position where strong performance is rewarded, we'd like to hear from you.

Pay: $20.00 - $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8.0 – 30.0 per week

Benefits:

  • Employee discount
  • Flexible schedule

Work Location: In person
