While shifts vary site to site, most follow a fixed 4-day work week with 3 days off.</li><li> Oversee truck deliveries, handle and sort packages using pallet jacks, operate PIT. equipment (at applicable facilities) and step in as needed.</li><li> Work in an environment where the noise level varies.</li><li> Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend and reach.</li><li> Climb and descend stairs (when applicable).<br><br></li></ul>A day in the life<br><br>As an Area Manager, no two days look exactly the same, but every shift gives you the chance to lead a team, solve real problems, and directly impact how millions of customers receive their orders.<br><br>Start of Shift: Set the Tone<br><br><ul><li> Get a handoff from the outgoing manager and review what's carrying over so nothing falls through the cracks.</li><li> Lead a team huddle to kick off the shift. Huddles are used to align on goals, safety priorities, and key focus areas.</li><li> Confirm your team is in place, positioned for success, and ready to go before operations begin.<br><br></li></ul>Middle of Shift: Lead from the Floor<br><br><ul><li> Walk the floor regularly to stay connected to your team, spot issues early, and keep things running smoothly.</li><li> Drive results across safety, quality, and productivity — balancing all three in real time.</li><li> Adjust staffing and resources as volume and priorities shift throughout the day.</li><li> Coach and develop your team members, respond to challenges as they come up, and partner with support teams to remove roadblocks.</li><li> Keep peers and leadership informed on how the shift is tracking and flag risks before they become problems.<br><br></li></ul>End of Shift: Close Strong<br><br><ul><li> Do a final walkthrough to make sure your area is clean, organized, and set up for the next team's success.</li><li> Review your shift's performance data and capture what went well and what to improve</li><li> Hand off to the incoming manager with a clear picture of priorities, open items, and next steps.</li><li> Wrap up any remaining administrative tasks so you leave the shift with a clean slate.</li><li> Every shift, you'll see the direct results of your leadership: from the energy of your team to the packages that reach customers' doorsteps. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
