About the position

As an Amazon Grocery Warehouse Associate, you will be an integral part of the team that supports one of Amazon's busiest services: online grocery orders. This position is based in a grocery warehouse that is designed to resemble the size of a grocery store, allowing for a more intimate and efficient working environment. You will be responsible for preparing grocery orders for delivery, which includes a wide range of products from cereal to ice cream and fresh flowers. Your role will involve working in various environments, including refrigerated and freezer spaces, where you will need to adapt to different temperature conditions throughout your shift. While it can be cold, Amazon provides the necessary gear to ensure you remain warm and comfortable while performing your duties. Your daily responsibilities will include using technology such as computers and smartphones to manage apps and scan bar codes, as well as intaking new grocery inventory and ensuring it is properly stored. Quality control is also a key aspect of your role, as you will need to check for order quality and rotate tasks throughout the week to maintain efficiency and productivity. The physical demands of the job require you to lift up to 49 pounds and work in temperatures ranging from -10°F to 90°F for extended periods. You will be expected to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during your shifts, utilizing carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other equipment to move items around the warehouse. Additionally, you may need to navigate stairs and handle a variety of products, including meat and alcohol. Inside the Amazon Grocery Warehouse, safety is a top priority. You will be provided with protective gear and will participate in daily safety briefings with your team. The work environment includes moving machines such as order pickers and stand-up forklifts, and you may be required to stand in one place for long periods or walk around the facility. The noise level can be high at times, but hearing protection is available if needed. The dress code is relaxed, but safety regulations must be followed, including wearing comfortable, closed-toe shoes. Depending on your role, Amazon may provide a $110 Zappos gift code to help you purchase the appropriate footwear for your first day.
